The Council introduced a Borough wide paper collection scheme via blue bin in 1999.
It was one of the first Recycling schemes in Northern Ireland. It has been highly successful and Ballymena residents recycle over 1800 tons of paper per year.
Each ton of paper recycled could save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatts of energy and 7000 gallons of water!
The paper collected is sent to a paper mill in England to be turned back into new paper.
The blue bins are collected on a six weekly basis and are provided to residents free of charge on request.
To find out your collection dates simply type your road into the box below and click on search.
