Approximately 40 community and voluntary projects and events have received financial support from Ballymena Borough Council within the past 12 months. The projects and events come in all shapes and sizes, and vary from sporting and arts events to environmental and community projects. Gig ‘n The Bann, The Milk Cup and The Royal Pipe Band Championships are just some of the projects which benefited in 2005. The Council provides grant aid support for projects and events that encourage community participation; improve public life; will help benefit the region as a whole; fulfill a clearly defined need within the Ballymena area and show a level of community support.
