The weekly collection of the red kerbie box began on week commencing 21st April 2008. It will effectively double the opportunity for residents to responsibly dispose of a wide range of household items including: aluminium foil, card, cardboard, handtools, clothes, plastic bottles, food & drink cans, glass bottles and jars.
Household batteries can now be recycled via your box. Simply place them in a clear bag and put them in your box.
All homes in the Borough should now have at least one Kerbie box in which you should place the following materials:
Household Batteries ( in a clear bag see above)
Glass Bottles/ Jars (washed out - no need to remove labels)
Steel and Aluminium cans (Washed out)
Aerosols
Clothes
Clean Aluminium foil
Plastic Bottles and Caps if screwed onto bottle (washed and squashed)
Hand Tools
Light Cardboard and small cardboard boxes - up to the size of the kebie box lid.
You can also leave additional bags of recyclables out along side your box. Please ensure bags contain just one type of material, e.g. one bag for plastic bottles, another for cans etc. Glass should be placed in the kerbie box.
