Gymnastics Level 5
1. Run, then hurdle step on to two feet then jump to two feet. From a short run take off from one foot to two and jump up then land on two feet.
2. “Y” Balance leg above waist height. Keep body straight, raise and hold the lifted leg stretched waist level and above.
3. Backward roll down an incline. Hands behind head, fingers pointing towards head. Tight body tuck, elbows point towards ceiling.
4. Shoulder stand, hips supported with hands. Roll back onto shoulders, legs stretched straight upwards, hold hips with hands, elbows on floor.
5. Japana, with flat back, chest to floor angle 45 degrees or less. Legs at 90 degrees. Sit in straddle, with a straight back lean to the floor, arms above head.
6. Front support with partner holding feet, show good shape. From front support partner lifts feet, the body must be kept straight with good tension.
7. Bunny hop with weight on hands from side to side over box. Hands grasp each side of box top, weight on hands, jump with bent legs over box.
8. Tuck jump. Jump upwards and show tucked shape, knees to chest, open out to soft landing.
9. Roll a ball or hoop travel along side and pick up whilst moving. Run beside rolling ball or hoop, overtake it and then pick up smoothly.
10. Leap from one foot to the other foot. With or without a short run take off from one foot, stretch legs and jump from one foot to the other.
6 out of 10 moves to be performed. When you have completed level5, move on to level 4, another step closer to level 1 where you can obtain your medal in the BG Proficiency Awards.
