Ahoghill...

3 miles due west of Balllymena town centre on the road to Portglenone is the large village of Ahoghill. There are numerous features of interest in the Parish Church of St Colmanell. The parish also includes the small villages of Hillhead and Carnear.

Ahoghill recently received recognition as Calor Village of the Year 2009/10.  This prestigious award acknowledges various aspects of life in the village including environmental  improvement. It was voted Best Small Town in Ulster in 2010 and Best Kept Large Village in the 2010 Supervalu Competition. It was awarded "Silver" in the Britain in Bloom Small Town category in 2010.
